Citizen Journalist Unholsters Gun: The Case Of Mike Strickland, My Friend

Published on Jul 13, 2016
CONTRIBUTE TO MIKE'S LEGAL DEFENSE FUND HERE: https://goo.gl/JA7dgx

A citizen journalist videographer in Portland, Oregon named Mike Strickland was arrested after unholstering his gun at a Black Lives Matter protest.

Mike Strickland is someone I know. I respect him because he makes little to no money going to these events trying to hold people accountable. He's fought for both the First and Second Amendments for half a decade and he does so at great risk to himself.

The court set bond for Mike at $250,000.

You can help out by donating to his release at Oregon Firearms Educational Foundation, indicating “Michael Strickland Legal Fund” in the tribute box.

Behind the Scenes: More Footage About Cocaine Abusing Teacher

Published on Jun 17, 2016
Behind the scenes footage from our recent encounter with Robert Klein on the campus of Howell Township South. The Howell Township Police Department criticized O'Keefe for "deceiving" the school officials by using a fake name. However, what they should be asking is why the school never asked O'Keefe for identification and why the Howell Police detained a black Project Veritas crew member near campus who did nothing wrong. Did the Howell Township police detain our cameraman just for being black?

Confronting Soros’s Open Society Foundation Over Lack of Transparency

Published on May 19, 2016
In this new video, James O’Keefe and Polish activist Matthew Tyrmand confront Open Society employees outside of their office headquarters in New York City to see whether or not they are funding radical far-left movements in Europe and the United States. Project Veritas wanted to see if the Open Society was willing to uphold its foundation’s mission statement, which supposedly includes openness and transparency.

Sharpton Interrupts Speech To Address O’Keefe at NAN Rally

Published on Feb 27, 2015
Following the negative comments directed at the Reverend Al Sharpton by the family and representatives of Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin, and Michael Brown, James O’Keefe went to Al Sharpton’s weekly National Action Network to question the Reverend. Before being “compelled” to leave the rally by several very large men standing over him, the good Reverend directly addressed O’Keefe and another Project Veritas journalist mid speech. A visibly flustered Sharpton said that O’Keefe was clowning and accused him (and the right wing in general) of distorting, exaggerating, and lying.

Cynthia Jeub: How to Get Into Trouble

NJO: Source: Cynthia Jeub's blog.

“We don’t do the little things to avoid messes. We do the little things to get into messes.” –TED Talk

My last post left a few questions: what qualifies as doing something right? If you’re on the wrong side of the law, you’ve done something wrong, haven’t you? Isn’t this just a big excuse for self-righteous foolhardiness?

The real reasons people ask these questions are because the lines are getting blurred between the law and justice. As Bastiat said it, in the minds of the people, there is no difference between law and justice. They mean the same thing for most. So when a ten-year-old boy tries to offer life-saving water to a starving woman’s lips and is arrested and sentenced to a written apology and community service for his crime of trespassing on the premises of a hospice, things get confusing.

My dad recently announced that another young man with a similar charge and record will be speaking at our For Action conference in January. James O’Keefe gets plenty of attack every day from people who doubt his integrity in his attempts to expose corruption.

There are plenty of people who don’t know the real story, and hate James when they should support his efforts. A guy with a camera should be rallied behind, as this child and this young man proved when they happened to run into bad cops.

My point here isn’t to dispel myths. I tell the story as it happened and people wonder why it’s such a big deal. Some guys tried to do an undercover film shoot and got in big trouble for, well, standing there in odd costumes. Read James’ book and, stay with me here, I’m not asking you to believe it. I’m just asking that you read his story before believing what’s written in top YouTube comments and tweets.

@Project_Veritas confronts former US Attorney Jim Letten, members of media, to speak Truth To Power

NJO: Title, video and blurb from James O'Keefe's YouTube channel VeritasVisuals.

Published on Aug 26, 2013
Project Veritas confronts former US Attorney Jim Letten at Tulane University, where he is now employed as a dean at the law school

Letten resigned in disgrace when his office was found attempting to manipulate open trials by disparaging the reputation of defendants on online public forums

There is reason to believe the US Department Of Justice pressured Letten's office back in 2010 to prosecute O'Keefe. After the incident in Sen. Landrieu's office, in which videographers sought to ascertain whether constituent phone calls were being answered, Letten recused from the case, only to pass it to associates within the office that even included Sen. Landreiu's brother.

When confronted, Letten only came out of his office after contacting various members of law enforcement. He then proceeded to swear at our reporters, created fictional crimes, made false statements in front of police, and even committed a minor assault. He acted with complete impunity, as the police officers patiently waited in silence until the conclusion of his tirade, only to then detain our reporters under another fictional pretense.

Our videographers decided to take the message of "truth to power" to journalism outfits across the NYC metro area -- asking them to accept a copy of Breakthrough and to participate in the practice of releasing full raw tapes with all of their investigations.

A special appearance is made by our great friend Gavin McIness, Fox News contributor and founder of Vice, who more than anyone understands the problems facing our lapdog media.

NJO: It's only prudent to note that Gavin McInnes (cheap bastard typing the blurb couldn't be bothered to spell his name right) is a regular contributor to the far-right, openly racist magazine website TakiMag.com, having written 168 articles for it by my count on August 29th 2013.

The Gavin McInnes bit starts at 07:10 and features the charming sight of James O'Keefe receiving verbal fellatio from this whiskery middle-aged man who I'm given to understand used to be kind of a big thing in New York hipster circles. And who currently writes on a regular basis for a racist shitrag, as I just mentioned. Ah well, whatever floats your boat I guess. Anyway, in terms of arousal, James has a definite tumescent sort of look about him by 07:48, just as someone pops out the door of the row house behind them and stands there not knowing what to do for a moment before deciding to stay inside till they're done. By the eight minute mark James is just standing there with a big dumb grin on his face, licking his lips and nodding away like "UNNNGH this is exactly the quality of verbal fellatio that James O'Keefe likes to receive and in a just world would be receiving ALL THE TIME." Alas, it ends rather abruptly, with Whiskery Hipster Friend Gavin asking "Where are the balls?", followed by a cut to a clip of Rachel Maddow talking. What a tease!

While I'm on the subject of oral sex metaphors, it's only a matter of record that James O'Keefe has made use of them here and there too, so I'm in good company. Also please note that I did manage to steer clear of the hoary old "coming in someone's mouth as an assertion of dominance" cliché that James seems to favor, which I think you'll agree shows some degree of class on my part. I do try to keep this a family blog, after all.

That's to say nothing of the first seven minutes ten seconds. Except: Holy shit, this child can whine! Greets worse than a wee bairn, as we might say in Scotland. And what is he even whining about, really, when it comes down to it? That, what, there was this proposed bill to bring healthcare affordability to millions of people, save lives and all that jazz, and seeing how he and his buddies are Good Christians and all, they naturally felt it was their Christian duty to try to hinder this in some way, even if it was just a perfunctory "keeping up appearances for Jesus" token effort, and so he and his Real True Good Christian buddies went and planned some bullshit sting operation against Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) who was in support of the legislation, but then in the execution of said sting things went balls-up, and they got arrested for it, and then for some reason he had all these beastly people paying attention to him and hating on him for doing these bullshit sting things --- exactly like what happened to Jesus! --- and he had to do community service, and... and the bill passed anyway, and the millions of people ended up getting their fucking healthcare, and up in heaven Jesus (the real one, not the wussified one that those fag hippies in Boston presumably believed in, haw!) wept a little bit and sent James a head-message saying "Son, what matters is U Tried", and then three years eight months after doing the thing James still hadn't learned anything or grown as a person, hence the interminable amount of whining and tantrum-throwing like some sort of lumbering toddler-man, a product of apparently really flaky parents who apparently never taught their child how to behave?

Yeah, I think that about sums it up.

What a sad farce.

Project Veritas visited police stations nationwide and asked law enforcement officials how they could protect themselves in the event of an armed break-in. "Go get some bleach. Go get ammonia," one officer instructed. Yet another officer instructed the undercover journalist to, "lock yourself in a bedroom" and "start yelling and screaming."

Vice President Joe Biden recently advised Americans to, "get a shotgun" for home protection. But when asked whether or not they should follow the Vice President's advice, law enforcement officials told the undercover journalists they would be arrested for doing so.

@ProjectVeritas_ Journalists, Politicians Refuse to Post Lawn Sign saying "HOME IS PROUDLY GUN FREE"

Posing as "Citizens Against Senseless Violence," we visit the homes of journalists working for Westchester Journal News, MSNBC, and the Star-Ledger. We also visited the home of Eric Holder. None will take our signs that say "THIS HOME IS PROUDLY GUN FREE."

Since these reporters and editors did not consider it a violation of the privacy and safety of others to reveal which homes have guns and which homes don't, we went to see which of them would be willing to put a sign up publicly declaring their homes to be gun-free zones. While we didn't find any members of the media with the strength of their convictions, we did find quite a few guns, and some good explanations for why they might be necessary..... Guns for Me, but not for Thee.

From the files of Ben Wetmore: "Confessions of a pro-life tagger"

NJO: "Benjamin Wetmore: A mentor of mine; a genius", said James O'Keefe in an interview in September 2009. So let's take a look at some of the wisdom of this certifiably mentorial influence on James' life.

Today, from September 2010, "Confessions of a pro-life tagger" (mirrored here)

Confessions from a Pro-Life Tagger

Running from the police is one of life's great joys. Or so I'm told. Hiding behind dumpsters, shedding clothing and evidence, trying to make the calm and cool getaway... a successful guerrilla operation is a rare and beautiful moment. Even more rare on an American college campus.
I'm getting ahead. We'll come back to the police.

There is a theory behind what is a "proper" liberal arts campus. The brick buildings, a holdover from nineteenth century architectural styles, provide an air of aloofness, dominion and detachment. The campus is stark. Scrubbed. Bleached. Sanitary. Airport modern. It resembles a hospital even in its sidewalks. Clean, white sidewalks. Posters advertise milquetoast affairs of special lectures and symphonic recitals. Even the ‘radicalism’ is chic, come hear the lecture on ‘white privilege’ or the essay on ‘institutional racism’ all contained within these scrubbed, bleached, sanitary modern walls.

The campus is small. Intimate. The paths between the dorms and the classrooms intersect, forcing students into interaction. Morris was founded with these ideals in mind. It is a special affair for the intelligent and gifted, the best in the Minnesota system. The honors student. There is an expected decorum held sacred by which all speech, must it happen at all, be bland and passionless. Intellectual. Rules, speech codes and administrative pressure are expected to keep the peace.

Such a model invites entropy. Such a model needs entropy.

In a poorly lit room, tucked away in one of those imposing brick structures, six individuals sit preparing to fuck the system. I'm one of them. This was a training exercise. Some off-campus leaders thought it necessary and decided to help out the local riffraff develop some guerrilla skills. We had started earlier, with small stuff. "Big R" was one of the off campus pros. "Little e" was the organizer, known for holding his knowledge close to the chest. Organizing guerrilla campaigns requires wavering attention spans and incoherent mumblings. Little e has mastered the art of comprehensible incomprehension. One pictures Lenin mumbling something about storming the gates, or Trotsky obliquely mentioning the advancing white guards.

James O'Keefe shows up at a meeting of Rutgers University Student Assembly

RUSA President David Cole called the police on CENTURION founder James O’Keefe on February 13th, this time, for “Disrupting” (attending) a “closed-body” (illegal) meeting.

Cole (and the lawyer he forked over) must be “sourd-muet” to N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 to 10:4-*2, which establishes the right of all citizens to attend meetings at which any business affecting the public is discussed or acted upon.

Rutgers police officer Paul F. Fischer did show up, kindly asking the suspect in mention to leave. But not before remarking, in confidence to James, “If you weren’t that guy from the CENTURION I’d have you in handcuffs. I’ve seen the online videos and I’m a huge fan, so I’ll let you go.” We’ll have the video up soon to prove it.

*Veritas vos Liberabit*... Such a motto rings very true here.

Cop Killer Comes To Rutgers

Reported by Matthew Klimek and James O'Keefe

On August 27, 1964, two Lodi, NJ, police officers, Peter Voto and Gary Tedesco, entered a night club to investigate a disturbance. Inside, a man name Thomas Trantino and an accomplice assaulted the officers, disarmed them, and then commanded them to strip to their underwear. Trantino and his sidekick then taunted and pistol-whipped the officers before finally shooting them execution-style. One of the officers’ brothers found the two slain policemen at the scene. Originally condemned to death, his sentence was commuted to life when the Supreme Court overturned the death penalty in 1972. Since 2002, this cop-killer has been walking the streets on parole. Within 18 months, Trantino was under arrest again for charges that he assaulted and restrained his girlfriend. He was acquitted. A conviction would have put him behind bars for the rest of his life. Following his release, Trantino had some difficulty securing work but he has now found a job, one that brought him to Rutgers-Camden on January 22. The Friends Transitional Support Services, a Quaker organization that reaches out to ex-inmates, was looking for a program director. They chose Trantino. Now, the FTSS and Prof. Drew Humphries, director of the criminal justice program at Camden, have cosponsored a panel to discuss “How to Survive on Parole and Probation.”

Of the thousands of NJ parolees, who should they chose as their public liaison but Trantino. Humphries was quoted as saying in the Star-Ledger that the panel was meant as “an open forum for discussion, no matter how controversial.” Rather it would seem she means “as controversial as possible.” Leah Morris, an employee of the Office of Public Defender, sat on the panel with Trantino and Humphries, though she was not acting in any connection with the office. The discussion was held in a university auditorium, which the two sponsors leased privately from Rutgers. No representative from the New Jersey State Parole Board was present at the event. Their delegate withdrew when the board learned that Trantino would be on the panel. Edward Bray, Parole Board spokesman, told the Philadelphia Enquirer, “It’s inappropriate for one of our officers to be sitting with a parolee... and be expected to treat him as a peer.” State law enforcement officials were outraged, and pleaded with the University to cancel, but to no avail. “He’s not someone we want to put up as an example of a good
parolee,” said Bray. Dr. Humphries would disagree. “Tommy Trantino is on the panel because he’s a role model for those who have come out of prison and are looking to turning their lives around,” she said. “Tommy is a very peaceful person. He’s done a good job. I don’t think he’ll turn into an ax murderer.”

And what if he were to turn into an ax murderer? How would that be any different than what he already is: a first degree double cop killer? If the purpose of this panel was to build a positive rapport between parolees and the community, why did the sponsors choose the perpetrator of a premeditated murder which left two families and an entire community bereft, and who is now freely walking the streets after narrowly escaping his capital sentence, as their lead man? To the Camden department of criminal justice, exactly what is their definition of the word “justice?” Still, Trantino wishes someone from the Parole Board had been present. “I’m willing to talk to those police officers,” he said. “I’m willing to go in to their training and talk to them. I used to talk to the police in prison and I have no problem with police.” No, he only executes them. “We recognize that Tommy is a controversial figure and for many people it’s rubbing salt in very tender wounds,” said Humphries. “But the difficulties of people in parole and probation is important work, so we do it.” More important, presumably, than the dignity of these two officers and the difficulties of their families following their loss. Two public servants, Voto and Tedesco, lost their lives, but their murderer not only still has both his life and his freedom, but is honored as a role mode. Of the law enforcement community, Trantino said, “It’s a club... The way they survive is, when Tommy Trantino’s name is mentioned, they snap to attention and say ‘RRRR.’”
