James O'Keefe Inspires Activists at Providence College

This past Wednesday members of the Providence College Chapter of Youth for Western Civilization attended a presentation by the Providence College Republicans with none other than the famous activist journalist James O'Keefe.  As President of the College Republicans in addition to my role as the head of YWC, this was one of the most exciting events I have ever had a hand in organizing on campus.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be hosting one of the most sought after interviews in America when I first invited James O'Keefe to Providence College.  Although I was well aware of his famous livewire brand of muckracking journalism, I did not expect ot have the good fortune of bringing in  Mr. O'Keefe right after his recent NPR expose.

Given this timing, I did not even need to utilize the press release skills I learned in the Leadership Institute's Youth Leadership School , as the press started contacting me as soon as I made the Facebook event.  Despite bravado and posturing from local antifa who made overtures to shut down the event, their threats turned out to be as empty as their beliefs, as none were brave enough to make an appearance on the Providence Campus.

By Michael Thompson, on Mar 09, 2011

Fresh off the release of a video documenting liberal bias in a tax-payer supported institution, conservative activist James O'Keefe will speak at Providence College on March 23 at 8 p.m. at the Slaven Center.

An inivted guest of the Providence Chapter of Youth for Western Civilization (YWC) and the College Republicans, O'Keefe's speech will bring a message encouraging conservative activist to take the fight to the left said YWC President Tim Dionisopoulous.

"James O'Keefe and the excellent work he has done exposing ACORN and now National Public Radio (NPR) has been an inspiration to members of both the YWC and College Republicans here at Providence," Dionisopoulous said.

"We are excited that he has continued documenting the abuses of a ruling idealogy that seems to be at war with middle America and know that his apperance on our campus will offer students at Providence and members of the community a chance to see someone who is working to make the future of this nation a better place," Dionisopoulous said.
